ADMIS is an incorporated body in the state of Victoria dedicated to the advancement of music education.

The Association of Directors of Music in Independent Schools is committed to:

Promoting awareness of the contribution music education makes to the development of Australian Society and culture
Promoting networking and co-operation among professional organizations associated with music
Providing leadership in music education
Providing forums for debate of music education issues, research developments, educational policy and education practice
Providing expertise to governments, arts bodies, educational institutions and the community in all matters concerning music education
Promoting collegiality among Directors of Music and Music Educators at all levels of music
Promoting professional development among Directors of music and Music Educators
Promoting high standards of professional, administrative and ethical conduct
